Santa Fe's Hand Crafted Heritage

July 02, 2018

The deep-seated influence of Spanish and Native American cultures is evident in Santa Fe, and summer brings spectacular ways to dive in and experience the arts of these cultures.

The Traditional Spanish Market—American’s oldest and largest juried market of its kind—centers around the city’s historic Plaza and offers cultural encounters for visitors to connect. See a slightly different take at the Contemporary Hispanic Market. This market seeks to give Hispanic artists a chance to showcase their work while educating interested onlookers on the original and unique works found at the show. In a similar way, the International Folk Art Market strives to preserve folk art traditions while creating economic opportunities for the craft. And, the Santa Fe incarnation of the event, now in its 15th year, is not only the world’s largest folk art festival with more than 150 artists from all across the globe, but has been voted the best art festival by USA Today!
