Santa Fe Attractions

Arts

Georgia O’Keefe put Santa Fe on the world art map and since, the art community has grown strong.  Canyon Road is known for its vast collection of galleries and the Guadalupe District is a perfect spot for hotel guests of the Santa Fe Sage Inn to experience contemporary art.  Be sure to visit Santa Fe’s many art museums on the Plaza and Museum Hill.

FEATURED ARTS ATTRACTION

The Santa Fe Opera

Every July and August since 1957, The Santa Fe Opera becomes one of Santa Fe’s most popular attractions. It has been the summer oasis for internationally acclaimed operatic talents and opera enthusiasts to enjoy productions by one of America’s premier summer opera festivals.

The Santa Fe Opera has taken its place among the world’s leading opera fest presenting productions that meet the highest artistic standards in a repertory of new, rarely performed, and standard works. To that end, some 1,500 performances of 120 operas, 40 American premieres and 9 works commissioned by the company have been given.

Casts are drawn from the world’s most talented young singers, and production teams of conductors, directors, and designers are international as well. It is a source of considerable pride that many singers whose names are now found on the rosters of the world’s leading opera houses began their careers in Santa Fe. They include Susan Graham, Patricia Racette, Joyce DiDonato, William Burden, Kristine Jepson, Michelle DeYoung, and Charles Castronovo.

Over the years Santa Fe hotel guests have marveled at the Santa Fe Opera’s open-air pavilion, covered by gorgeous white sails, with views of the magnificent northern New Mexico mountains. Hotel guests of the Santa Fe Sage Inn may view seating charts, ticket prices or to order tickets online, visit http://ecommerce.santafeopera.org/index.aspx or by calling the box office Monday through Friday from 9 am to 5 pm at 800.280.4654
