Cochiti Lake is a water sport oasis set on the Rio Grande, about half way between Santa Fe and Albuquerque. Hotel guests of the Santa Fe Sage Inn will enjoy this Lake for boating, camping, fishing, hiking, interpretive programs, picnicking, wildlife viewing and water sports such as windsailing, water skiing and kayaking.
Cochiti Lake offers two public recreation areas; the Cochiti Recreation Area on the west side of the lake and the Tetilla Peak Recreation on the east side. Each recreation area has a boat ramp for launching vessels.
Visitors should make plans to bring their own or rented equipment to the lake. Because the Lake is located within the boundaries of the Pueblo de Cochiti Indian Reservation, please observe and obey all Pueblo regulations.
Guests of the Santa Fe Sage Inn are a half hour drive to Cochiti Lake. From the hotel, go south on Cerrillos Road to I-25 South. Follow to exit 264. Turn West on Highway 16 and North on Cochiti Highway (Hwy 22).
