Take a nostalgic ride on the vintage cars of the Santa Fe Southern Railway.  The Santa Fe Southern Railway runs on tracks originally laid by the Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway (ATSF) to its namesake city in 1880.  Experience railroad history and the beautiful New Mexico landscape. 

Santa Fe Southern Railway offers fun day trips, holiday excursions and special cocktail hour rides. Trains depart from the Santa Fe Depot, 410 S. Guadalupe Street, in downtown Santa Fe.  Choose from 2½ to 4 hour scenic excursions in vintage coaches, a luxury silver car, or the panoramic dome car to historic Lamy or the stunning Galisteo overlook where panoramic views extend for up to 120 miles. Watch one of Santa Fe’s famous sunsets from the train on Friday evening “High-Desert Highball” cocktail train and the Saturday night Campfire Barbecue train.   Special trips are planned throughout the year such as the Mardi Gras Trip, the Ghost Story Trip and the Holiday Lights Trip.
